Issue 3: Self Care as a Tool for Navigating Seasons of Change
Is it fair to say that it is officially homebody season!? While the weather may still need to catch up, we are here to fully embrace that fall energy. 🍂🎃☁️

Following our October 1st journal entry, we are ready to manifest some candlelit nights, staying in, reading books while drinking warm, spiced drinks. More than anything though, we are willingly inviting this change of season.

Maybe you feel tingly excitement for some cooler temps.
Maybe you're ready to hit the ground running for Q4.
Maybe you're a bit overwhelmed with your to-do's before the holidays.
…time doesn't feel real anymore… how is it moving so darn quickly?

^^ Which one are you?? We're a bit of all of the above.

Whatever feelings are coming up with this new season, today's issue is dedicated to helping you check in with yourself and find ways to navigate the shift from summer to fall.

When you take a moment to slow down, you cultivate inner strength to live authentically no matter the season of life you are in.

And we're here to walk that path right alongside you.

Self Care as a Tool for Navigating Seasons of Change

“Practicing more self-care is a statement of love, priority, and commitment to oneself.” - Josephine Atluri, Meditation & Mindfulness Coach

Self-care – a word we always hear. While everyone's version of self & care varies by nature, we all know it's super important for feeling good, both mentally and physically.

Life ebbs and flows. Seasons change. Energy shifts. As we welcome fall, take a moment to check in on how you feel *right now*. Perhaps the intention you set a month or two ago, no longer resonates. What is your mind, body, spirit saying to you now?

Some thought-starters to get inspired:

💭 Reflect with Intent: Use our self-care journaling templates to reflect on your feelings and thoughts during these changing times.

🍂 Embrace the season:  Take self-care outdoors and connect with nature, enjoy seasonal produce, give your digital spaces a refresh that matches with this cozy side of the year, go for a walk and let nature guide your thoughts and calm your spirit.

😌 Downtime: Wrap yourself in a cozy blanket, sip on your favorite cozy drink, read a book that resonates with you this season, and take extra time to nourish your self-care practice.

⏸️ Pause & Breathe: Embrace the idea of slow living, pause for a few minutes, take a few deep breaths, and welcome stillness in between your daily to-do's. We don't have to fill every moment. Sometimes, we can just *be*.

✨ Create Flexible Routines: Establish self-care routines that adapt to the season, honoring your current season of life.

Rituals & Habits

We think that when it comes to creating a practice for self-care there are three main components that play an important part: self-reflection, habits, and non-negotiables.

1. Self-Reflection | Listen to what you need, what makes you feel balanced, grounded and recharged.

🔎 What do I need today? ex: When you wake up, check in with how you're physically and emotionally feeling. Perhaps you need to shift your schedule this week to meet yourself where you're at.  Feeling social? Make some plans! Feeling drained? Post-pone or ask for help.

2. Habits | Think about the actions you do intentionally and unconsciously daily.

🔎 What shifts can I make that can impact how I go about my day? ex: Moving my body makes me feel less anxious and stressed, so scheduling 30 min workouts for the whole week in advance helps me hold myself accountable.

3. Non-Negotiables | What must you absolutely do (or not do) first thing when you wake up to start your day?

🔎 What are my daily non-negotiables for a more joyful day? ex: Turning my phone on as soon as I wake up stresses me out, so my non-negotiable is taking care of myself first before I attend to work and external people's needs.

Reminder:  self-care is a personal practice, and what works for one person may not work for another! The key is to find activities that bring YOU peace and joy!
